September 7, 2015 – Junji Tsuda, President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Yaskawa, and Manfred Stern, President and CEO of Yaskawa Europe GmbH, came to Finland to visit The Switch both at its Vaasa facility and new Helsinki office.
During the visit, J. Tsuda presented his thoughts to The Switch:
Yaskawa Group and The Switch have many things in common. The beginning of our company was manufacturing motors and developing applications. Sounds like The Switch with motors and applications. But we started over a century ago.
This year, Yaskawa is celebrating its 100th anniversary. For The Switch, your nearly 10-year history is relatively short. But from watching you, I can see that you love applications. And by focusing on niche applications, we can be number one.
Yaskawa’s whole focus is on applications in the small to medium range. The Switch focuses on large-scale drives, which is your strength. So we have a very good combination.
We have been very successful in what we do. And now, we want to be even more successful with The Switch. You are in the wind, marine and industrial businesses. In each area, I want us to become a global number one by enabling our customers to become number one as well!
