Seeking an exceptionally energy-efficient drive train solution for a challenging turbo application? Suitable conventional electric motor drive systems – reliant on reduction or multilayer gears – remain limited or nonexistent.
In fact, companies in industries like yours have found that traditional drive systems:
- Lack efficiency
- Remain large and bulky
- Don’t scale well
- Fail to handle centrifugal forces
- Tend to be unnecessarily complex
Now – it’s simple. We’ve been fine-tuning a solution that addresses these problems. What is it?
Turbo-charged drive train solution
The Switch turbo drive package simplifies power delivery while achieving up to 15,000 rpm – more than four times that of a conventional system. What’s more, energy efficiency is higher than anything seen before in the industry.
Our stand-alone or integrated solution features a high-speed solid rotor induction motor with a non-laminated rotor construction. In its simplest form, a solid rotor is a machined ferromagnetic steel bar. To increase performance, additional enhancements may be applied to the bar, such as slitting, a high conductive end ring, or a rotor cage.
The solution eliminates the need for a gearbox while allowing adjustable speed for all types of turbo applications – delivering the highest possible energy efficiency and cost savings. We engineer every high-speed solid rotor induction motor for a specific end use, including fans and turbo blowers to turbo generators, compressors, and pumps.
The stiff, solid construction offers unmatched stability and balance, along with exceptional rotating system reliability. And integrating an electric motor with the load machinery provides exceptional space and weight savings.
Unlike conventional drive train solutions, the high-speed solid rotor induction motor:
- Ensures operational efficiency and energy savings
- Delivers a compact, lightweight design that’s up to 50% smaller
- Increases availability and scalability while reducing maintenance costs
- Features superior construction that withstands vibrations and centrifugal forces
- Provides a variable speed drive and motor filters in panels
What’s more, it’s proven. The technology has been used in industries ranging from gas to chemical to paper to… much, much more. Ask us if our solution could be right for you.
