The Switch single drives were selected in June 2024 as part of a solution to hybridize a nearly 100-meter LOA anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel, originally built in the early 2010s. The drives will be used to connect batteries to the vessel’s AC switchboard, retrofitting the vessel for hybrid use. The delivery is expected in Q1 2025.
Eelis Rousu, Key Account Manager, states that this order helps extend the lifetime of older vessels by enabling them to comply with the tightening maritime regulations.
