How spare parts packages keep your equipment running smoothly

Imagine this: Your vessel is out at sea, and suddenly, you encounter a critical issue in your electricity distribution system. Wouldn’t it be reassuring to know that you have exactly what you need on hand to get back on course without delay?

At The Switch, we’re committed to ensuring that long after our products have been installed on your vessel, we continue to care about them. We care about every detail – and that goes for our spare parts, too.

To better serve our customers, we’re rolling out several new spare parts package configurations to save you time and effort down the road. These tailored packages match the products you bought and incorporate the services needed as your vessel navigates the seas.

What does servicing look like for The Switch products?

The Switch products are easy to maintain and include minimal wearing components that need to be changed. Because of this, all planned maintenance can be done by your vessel crew. The scheduled maintenance intervals are itemized in the relevant user manuals.

Our strategy is to train our customers to handle the commissioning and maintenance activities by themselves through online, hands-on and/or classroom trainings either at our or the customer’s facilities. Each customer chooses the best training method for their vessel and situation.

In addition to different spare parts packages, we also offer commissioning supervision. For this, we send either our or our trained partner’s service engineer to make sure that everything goes smoothly during the commissioning at the ship.

Spare parts packages customized to your specific needs

Our spare parts are carefully selected to meet the needs of our products. Having a spare parts package ensures that all necessary components are readily available for any potential repair or replacement.

We discuss spare parts strategies with our customers in advance to ensure a smooth supply during the whole lifetime of the vessel. Our products come with well-structured maintenance plans, and all necessary components are available as part of a tailored spare parts package. While The Switch does not have large spare parts warehouses, careful planning allows us to meet customer needs effectively.

Spare parts packages are best obtained at the same time as the machines or power electronics. The parts can be delivered either together with the equipment or at another agreed-upon time. To ensure smooth operations, we recommend storing critical spare parts on the vessel. Only a few essential parts are needed to handle common malfunctions that may occur. The remaining spare parts are retained for planned maintenance.

Standard or tailored spare parts package options

We offer a range of standard spare parts packages, but can also customize packages to meet specific requirements upon request. Individual spare parts are available, too.

We discuss your needs in detail and match the package to fit your requirements, ensuring you get exactly what you need.

Ongoing support and continuous improvement

The system integrator (SI) is the first contact point for vessel operators concerning our machines and drives. As a product supplier, we are the secondary contact.

But even so, we provide a 24/7 support line for technical questions. Simple questions are handled and answered at once. Questions needing an expert’s opinion are handled during office hours.

We constantly discuss with our customers how to serve them better. We value their feedback and use it to further develop our services and offerings.

Your smooth and uninterrupted journey is our top priority.
