Dear friends,
This is my first opportunity to write in our newsletter as the Division President of Yaskawa Environmental Energy (EED) and Chairman of the Board of The Switch. Needless to say, I am pretty excited about this new and challenging role at the company.
As many of you know, I have already been working more than 10 years at The Switch, first as Key Account Manager, then as Head of Europe and recently as Head of the Wind Business. So, I know this company quite well – both our strengths and weaknesses.
We also now have a new management team with the following vice presidents. Panu Kurronen will lead Technology and has two product lines: electrical machines and high-power converters. His team takes care of product management, R&D and engineering. Matti Nikkinen is responsible for all operations, including assembly, testing and customer service activities. Antti Rautio, the most recent member of our team, is handling Procurement, which encompasses sourcing, purchasing and logistics. Mathias Martin is responsible for HR, IT and Quality. Milla Häggblom has responsibility for Finance and also acts as Division Controller of EED. I am taking care of sales, marketing, business development and customer project management together with Risto Ahvo and Mikko Lönnberg.
We aim to keep our customers in the center of our activities, as in the past. This includes supporting the business of our existing customers in all possible ways while also attracting new customers. We have always been up for the challenge, ready for new developments and flexible towards our customers. We keep on providing optimized products based on our great permanent magnet, solid rotor and high-power converter technologies. While doing this, we have to be even better in managing projects, providing world-class quality, keeping on-time deliveries and reducing the cost of our operations and products.
We will have an interesting pipeline of new developments and products in all of our business areas – wind, marine and turbo. Some of these will be discussed in this newsletter, and there is more to come.
