Switching on frequently 01/2016

All around, we’re seeing the real switch happening in energy production. The key to The Switch approach for this has been our full-power converter (FPC).

Making the switch our vision

All around us, we’re seeing the real switch happening in energy production. Renewables have already won the fight against old-fashioned energy production. The key to The Switch approach for this has been our full-power converter (FPC).

We love PMG – how bout you?

This year’s China Wind Power exhibition in Beijing clearly showed that PMG-FPC technology has broken into the Chinese market and is firmly established. Turbines using PMG technology are now commanding a premium price from utilities there.

Wind is picking up; green ships are on the rise

Wind power is back in many ways. The financial crisis has changed the competitive landscape for good. The number of turbine manufacturers and supply chain players has shriveled. This is due to consolidation as well as many stepping out of the wind space, which means that supply and demand are back in better balance. First,…

WindEnergy Hamburg 2014

The Switch participated at the new leading wind power exhibition called WindEnergy Hamburg 2014 from September 23 – 26.

Uplifting wind in Hamburg

During WindEnergy expo in Hamburg, The Switch organized a drive train technology debate on PMG vs DFIG together with Recharge. The Debate was lined up with top wind power business and thought leaders, discussing the benefits and concerns about the FPC and the ways it can save the cost of energy.

Betting against the wind?

As an investor in renewable energy, you most likely consider return on investment (ROI) to be a key metric when assessing investments in areas such as wind power. Without a doubt, this can be crucial.

The Switch signs deal for permanent magnet shaft generators

The Switch and WE Tech signed an agreement for the delivery of four direct-drive 1.5 MW PM shaft generators. This strengthens the position of The Switch as it uses its proven track record of applying PM generator technology successfully in the wind power industry now to a range of marine applications.
