WE Tech Solutions together with The Switch won the People’s Choice trophy at the first annual Energy & Innovation Awards held as part of the EnergyWeek 2018 on March 20, 2018, in Vaasa City Hall, Finland.
The companies’ joint permanent magnet shaft generator solution was chosen as the favorite by the majority of the external voters, thus becoming the People’s Choice winning case. At the ceremony, WE Tech and The Switch presented to the audience how the solution helps shipowners improve competitiveness while decreasing fuel consumption.
There were seven other fantastic finalists competing for the awards. All presented a special case from 2016–2017, where their solution made an impact in the field of energy and innovation. The main Jury’s prize went Virta for their Virta Home electric vehicle home charging service case.
For us, winning the People’s Choice category is meaningful to the highest extent. This is an achievement that proves that our innovative and reliable technologies are recognized and trusted by our customers and business partners in the global shipping industry – something we have been always striving for the most.
