On October 9, The Switch in Norway had the first run of its new, next-generation Poseidon Drives test station in Stord. This was also a great opportunity to do a 100% production test for two EBLs, which will be delivered to Teekay vessel number 5.
Earlier, the EBL modules were tested in the company’s R&D department in Trondheim. But now that the test station in Stord is completed and ready for the EBL, the team in Trondheim can continue to fully focus on R&D.
This has been a great effort from several locations, both in Norway and Finland. We are very happy and proud to have now taken the first steps toward production testing the Poseidon Drives modules.
Many thanks to all who contributed to build the test station, which will take us into the future with our marine drives.
In the photo, Jan Petter Ottesen and Ørjan Aakre Aarland are proudly observing the first two EBLs, which have been tested 100% at the new test setup at Grunnavågen in Stord, Norway. And of course, they passed without any problem.
