Verneri Pylkkä, Logistics Specialist
Verneri Pylkkä has been appointed as Logistics Specialist to strengthen the logistics team. Verneri will be working to handle all export- and import-related logistics tasks.
Previously, Verneri worked in technical purchasing as a trainee. Before that, he was a material handling trainee in the Vaasa factory. Verneri is a hardworking and quickly adapting guy. So, it’s good that we are able to keep him in our procurement team.

Jesse Kurronen, Specialist, Test Systems
Jesse Kurronen (BSc, Electrical Engineering) has been appointed Specialist, Test Systems and he starts in his position on December 1, 2022 in Lappeenranta.
Jesse has several years of experience in different testing tasks and electrical installations. His scope of work will include leading the Test Systems testing development and harmonization tasks within and between the factories. Later, co-operation will be extended also to Norway and China organizations.
“I have worked with electrical machines already almost ten years in different kinds of tasks, from production to testing. I’m very interested in joining Yaskawa Environmental Energy / The Switch and eager to receive some new tasks and responsibilities. With some of you we already know each other but I also can’t wait to get to know my new colleagues and start working together.“
Andreas Giannakis, R&D Engineer, Power Electronics
Andreas Giannakis joined our team in Trondheim on January 16 as our new R&D Engineer Power Electronics. Andreas will be working with our existing drive solutions in addition to new development. Design, simulation, component selection and testing will be important tasks in his position.
“After the completion of my Ph.D., and before I started working in The Switch, I worked for a year as a Postdoctoral researcher in NTNU in the field of Power Electronics. I was involved in a project for designing gate drive concepts for Silicon Carbide Meta-Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors (MOSFETs). Lastly, during my both doctoral and postdoctoral studies, I had been working as a teaching assistant in Power Electronics course at NTNU, and I also supervised several Master theses.“
