This webinar will cover how Berg Propulsion and The Switch matched their joint technology to design a series of low-carbon multipurpose diesel-electric vessels with a controllable-pitch single propeller for Skarv Shipping Solutions. These vessels will be far more climate-friendly than what is currently available in the European short-sea market today. They will also focus on high efficiency and low fuel consumption.
The design includes an optimized engine ready for ammonia or methanol, batteries, a shore-power system, peak shaving with a dynamic propeller drive system and a DC-voltage switchboard prepared for future green power production, such as fuel cell technologies and increased battery capacity.
