More orders from major wind customers

The Switch has received repeat orders worth several millions of euros from major customers in the company’s core business area of wind. These repeat orders signal a strong belief in the company and provide a solid order backlog as The Switch continues to advance drive train technology under new ownership of Japan-based Yaskawa.

The Switch signs deal for permanent magnet shaft generators

The Switch and WE Tech signed an agreement for the delivery of four direct-drive 1.5 MW PM shaft generators. This strengthens the position of The Switch as it uses its proven track record of applying PM generator technology successfully in the wind power industry now to a range of marine applications.

Tradeoffs in China

When working in the manufacturing industry, there are many variables to juggle. Three most common ones are the price of the product, the quality of the product, and the speed of delivery.

Medium-speed PMG + FPC – why not?

As PM technology can be applied to all wind turbine drive train topologies, you can choose the one that is best for your own purpose. Especially in the high-power range above 5 MW that is applicable to offshore the size of the direct-drive generator tends to be too large and the three-stage gearbox increases the risk of faults.
