During times of a flat economy, many companies start rethinking their operations to better match the evolving needs of their customers. Is now the time to rethink your designs for a smarter approach to the future?
When working in the manufacturing industry, there are many variables to juggle. Three most common ones are the price of the product, the quality of the product, and the speed of delivery.
This year’s China Wind Energy Association (CWEA) Conference was held on Saturday, January 11
Repeat orders for its wind-power generation components from key Norwegian and Chinese accounts position The Switch, with its cutting-edge permanent magnet generator and full-power converter package, for a strong 2009.
The new agreement calls for The Switch to provide ScanWind with drive train packages that combine a direct-drive 4.25 MW permanent magnet generator with a full-power converter to be used in offshore wind turbine development efforts. In Asia, repeat orders from customers in China call for nearly one gigawatt of additional production, more than doubling The Switch’s production capacity overall.
By adding several new models to its offering, The Switch, a Finnish-based technology company, is the first company to provide a complete portfolio of permanent magnet based generator packages specifically designed for maximized wind power generation.
The latest additions include an outer rotor generator, a modern-style 2.5 MW drive train, and a double-fed option.
With high-speed electrical machines, there is a clear gap between running applications below 200 kW with induction or permanent magnet machines and other applications developed in-house that run at multi-megawatt powers. This webinar takes a look at how solid-rotor technology extends the capabilities of standard induction machines to fill that gap in the market. Agenda
Imagine that your electric machine no longer meets your needs. Perhaps performance requirements changed, vibrations suddenly appeared during operation or another practical challenge emerged. Situations like these are where innovation often begins. For engineers, solving such problems is part of everyday work – but how they approach them can vary from company to company. At…
Do you worry the components you buy won’t actually meet your turbo application specifications? We’ve got you covered. We’ve created a customer-focused working process that incorporates customer feedback at each step throughout the production process. This ensures: Our communicative process makes sure you get exactly what you need. We’re focused on a great result for…
Wind turbine manufacturers, owners and operators are seeking the ideal drive train configuration to increase annual energy production, minimize total life cycle costs and fulfill the strictest grid code requirements.
The Switch Drive™ is a fully optimized permanent magnet generator and full-power converter package, enabling high reliability, better overall efficiency and fault ride-through capability.
This webinar will cover how Berg Propulsion and The Switch matched their joint technology to design a series of low-carbon multipurpose diesel-electric vessels with a controllable-pitch single propeller for Skarv Shipping Solutions. These vessels will be far more climate-friendly than what is currently available in the European short-sea market today. They will also focus on high efficiency and low fuel consumption.
