Our fiscal year is not the calendar year. Instead, it runs from March 1 through the end of February, as is typical for many Japanese companies. The Japanese new year starts with the blossoming of cherry trees. Similarly, our business has been flourishing, too. Our revenue has grown and our profitability improved during the past fiscal year.

Reaching net zero by 2050 is perhaps the biggest challenge for humankind ever! Yaskawa Environmental Energy / The Switch has always been developing technologies and products that enable you, our customers, to provide solutions that contribute to the journey toward net zero.

As of March 1, 2018, we became Yaskawa Environmental Energy Division with global responsibility in our selected areas of wind, marine and turbo/industry applications. For us, this now provides a good foundation to continue focusing on our mission to electrify the world with ultimate efficiency.

Summer has arrived bringing us endless days and white nights. This time, due to COVID-19, the cold and dark winter has felt longer than ever before. Luckily, now we seem to be on top of this pandemic, and life is normalizing.

As we pause to spend time with our friends and family during the holidays, I wish you many warm regards. And I hope you, too, have a chance to recharge your batteries for an electrifying new year and exciting decade ahead!

The year is approaching its end, but it has been very eventful. We have returned to our strong growth path. The hard work with you – our customers, partners and other stakeholders – has turned into solid business.
